Social & Emotional Skills - Adjusting to new situations while learning to trust and take direction in a classroom setting. Learning to speak up for oneself and begin to learn that others and their feelings need to be taken into consideration. Sharing, taking turns and learning how to handle frustration. Both verbal and social skills are highly emphasized in this class.
Cognitive Skills - One on one time with the teacher happens every day. This is the time to work on individual goals such as following simple directions, and introducing patterns, colors, shapes. Fine motor skills, such as holding writing and cutting utensils, are also introduced. Chester Co-Op partners with members of the community, local charities, Geauga Park District, Geauga Library, and first responders to bring enrichment and enhanced learning into the classroom. |
